Who we are...
The Center houses the greatest concentration of cardiovascular investigators on the University of Louisville School of Medicine's campus. The Center has a history of excellence in integrative studies of cardiovascular function. The Center's diverse investigators have expertise in the metabolic, immunologic, toxocologic, and fibrotic causes and consequences of cardiovascular health and disease. We house a suite of modern instrumentation and highly specialized services to support investigators in our Center, on our campus, and more broadly in the scientific community.
More recently, the Center has cultivated interests in physical activity (exercise), sleep, and nutrition—and, in understanding how these elements influence the cardiovascular system. The faculty pride themselves on the rigorous training provided to the trainees matriculating through the Center. Most importantly, for all trainees, staff, and faculty, we value excellence, collegiality, and diverse perspectives in our Center.
